When asked how
(to choose, to survive, to put one foot in front of the other)
Answer: slowly
With intention.
Gently
With patience.

How else does a sun rise, or a season change?

Count the rhythm of your breath, in –

 hold –

and out. It will get easier to do this.

Lungs are greedy things;
Hands and hearts are too.
Teach them to savour
(good lessons take time)

Listen to the creak of emptiness,
And imagine it instead, as space.
