So Long As You Write Club
‘So long as you write what you wish to write, that is all that matters; and whether it matters for ages or only for hours, nobody can say.’ Virginia Woolf
The So Long As You Write Club is a free fortnightly online writing session run by Dear Damsels, the writing community and platform supporting women writers. Since 2016, DD has published empowering collections of fiction, non-fiction and poetry and shared the words of hundreds of women. Recently, we’ve shifted our focus to providing free and inclusive opportunities to write together.
Inspired by our book that shares the same name, the SLAYW Club sessions are a friendly, open slot to come together and get some writing done. We’ll kick off each session with a writing prompt, which you might choose to use as inspiration during the writing time, or you’re welcome to bring along whatever project you’d like to work on – it’s up to you. , Shortly before the hour is up, we’ll come back together to share any reflections and have a chat about our practice.
Occasionally we’ll invite guest writers along to host the session and set a writing prompt, to switch up the sessions and give us a new perspective on writing.
If, like us, you’re looking to write more this year, we hope you’ll find these sessions provide time and support to do just that each fortnight. Interested? We’d love for you to join us!
Sign up through our Google form and we’ll send you the Zoom link and a calendar reminder of when to join us.
