I want to lose more days—
with thick aged book pages
between two fingers
let seasons pass
playing album after album of
college bands, lingering on
Bright Eyes, not asking for a dance
lose old friends too far gone to visit
with frosting across my lips and
staining my teeth a color-
by-number grin
–in the good ways good people
grow old, but refuse to mention.
