MUSCLE MEMORY | In Leanne Moden’s poem, the musical process becomes play.
by Leanne Moden
soft pressure of calloused fingertips
pausing between chords
fretting over fraught frets
thumbnail tumbling awkwardly
across staccato
strummed rhythms
stumbling through melodies
steep scales scaled
like mountain ranges
it’s all part of the process
perfect is useless
i am enough
